I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions? I would greatly prefer to be able to use WinAmp, and not have to manually add/update/delete music & playlists if possible.īefore you ask, with the stock OS on the iPod, yes I can sync to it with WinAmp properly, but as soon as I install RockBox, file transfer thru WinAmp becomes an issue. Ive played around with the setting in RockBox a bit, but just cant seem to come up with any combination that will let it steadily transfer files to it. But, it just constantly hangs up when using WinAmp. No pauses or delays, even when syncing as much as 80gb of music at once. If I add the files manually via Windows, the transfer speed is pretty constant at ~10.6mb/sec. Then it will pause for~30-60 seconds, before syncing another track. This pack 2 contains selected well suited Winamp skins to use with your PocketMusic MP3 Player on your Pocket PC device. It will sync as many as 20 tracks, or as few as one. However, the uploading is.I guess you could say.erratic. So I decided to install RockBox to experiment with it, since I plan on going solid-state in my next build, and wanted to use RockBox with it.Īs said, I always synced with Winamp, so after installing RockBox and confirming everything works, I decided to sync a couple playlists through WinAmp. However, I recently put some spare parts together, and produced another functioning but basically stock 160gb Classic. That said, I have been syncing a 240gb iPod Classic with it for a year or two now. There's also a version of Winamp for Android-based smartphones if you want an easy way to move your iTunes library over. Since version 5.2, it has supported synchronizing DRM-free media to iOS devices like the iPod which makes it an excellent alternative to iTunes.

First post, I think this is in the right spot. Winamp, which was first released in 1997, is a full-featured media player.
